We’ve been Welched

It seems that Hannes Naudé has continued the longstanding (if somewhat shady) tradition of hacking our contest scoring mechanism. We’ve stopped the queue for now. Once we fix the scoring process, we’ll post another message and fire up the queue again. Thanks for your patience.

If you’re wondering where the term “Welched” comes from, it is in honor of longtime contestant E. Brian Welch. Brian never won the contest, but he successfully hacked it more than once. His name even appears on the Hall of Fame page under the heading Most Creative Hack.

Not that we want to encourage any more such entries…

Wrap code fragments inside <pre> tags, like this:

<pre class="code">
a = magic(3);
sum(a)
</pre>

If you have a "<" character in your code, either follow it with a space or replace it with "&lt;" (including the semicolon).
