Jan Langer wins the Push, 1000 Character Challenge Announced

Corruption in the database brought the contest down from late last night until this morning. We’re sorry the contest was offline so long while put the contest back together. Thanks for your patience with us.

Jan Langer won the slightly truncated Big Sunday Push, closely followed by Per Rutquist and David Jones. All three are contest veterans you can read about in the Hall of Fame.

We’re now holding a 1000 Character Challenge. This mid-contest award goes to the highest scoring entry submitted today (Monday) before 10PM EST. To make it easier to find these entries in the results, a listing of the leaders will added to the statistics.

Correction: I mistakenly announced Per as the winner in the original version of this message. I’m sorry for my error.

    Why did Jan Langer not win the Big Sunday Push, when it seems from the statistics page that he had the largest cumulative score improvement?

    My mistake, the cyclist. I updated the message. Thanks for pointing this out!

Wrap code fragments inside <pre> tags, like this:

<pre class="code">
a = magic(3);
sum(a)
</pre>

If you have a "<" character in your code, either follow it with a space or replace it with "&lt;" (including the semicolon).
