What is Link Exchange?

This week’s post is a guest post by Lindsay Coutinho, the MATLAB Central Administrator. Today, she talks to us about why you would want to use MATLAB Central’s Link Exchange.

As most of you know, MATLAB Central is our MATLAB online community where MATLAB users can come together to ask questions, share ideas, and resources. MATLAB Central includes several different areas including the Blogs, File Exchange, MATLAB Answers, Newsreader, Contest, and Link Exchange. Today I will dive into a hidden treasure of resources, Link Exchange.

So what is Link Exchange?

Link Exchange is the area of our community where you can find, or browse trough an abundance of MATLAB-related resources all in one place. You can even add your own links too! Links to code, articles, news, books, videos, tutorials, blog posts, course materials, related products, drivers, and more are all added here by like minded community members who also love MATLAB.

Have you ever written something about MATLAB? Have you ever come across a webpage related to MATLAB that had useful information? Well, this is the place to share that link! Not only can you share the webpage with others who are passionate about MATLAB, but you can add your own description providing more specifics about this resource. Tags are added to each entry and serve as the keywords or category labels. This makes it easier when searching for a particular area of interest. Find out more about tags here: What makes a good tag?

Search for links using a variety terms including, keywords, titles, tags, or by using the Advanced Search feature. As with other applications at MATLAB Central, you can easily browse listings using the tag cloud or sort by most recent, most clicked, and timeframe.

Help other users when you find a helpful resource by adding adescription and rating to let other know why this resource was useful to you.

How can you submit a link to Link Exchange?

Submitting a link is easy! If you don’t already have one, create a MATLAB Central Community Profile. From the Link Exchange main page, click Submit a Link. Using the form, paste in the URL, the title of the webpage, add a brief overview summary, enter a description, add tags, and click submit. That’s it, voilà!

To ensure the value of Link Exchange, we review entries to confirm to they are related to the MATLAB product family. Your link submission should be up within one to two business days (if not sooner!).

Now it’s your turn, take a look around Link Exchange and see if you find any treasured resources on Link Exchange. Be sure to share all the great MATLAB-related links you have bookmarked!
