MATLAB for Typography?

I was wandering around the web and came across work by Ankur Pawar on flickr. He has some beautiful pictures with font embellishments, as well as gorgeous depictions of some transcendental functions.

MATLAB Typography on flickr

Here are some of the typography images that Ankur has placed on flickr.

Make These Yourself

Lo and behold, Ankur has entries for how to achieve these results on MATLAB Central. Download the code, and you can embellish on Ankur's work.

Functions in the Complex Plane

Ankur also creates some beautiful displays of functions in the complex plane. Here's a teaser for you to go check them out in more detail.

How about You?

Have you created some beautiful pictures in MATLAB that give you some special insight? I don't have a way to gather your pictures here, but you could post them here, with the right html formatting. To include a picture, you might use code like this, with obvious spaces omitted:

    Beauty is in the eye of the beholder… but I really like this figure: which appeared in this paper and was made with Matlab code that is publicly available here.

    Well, I’ll take this oppertunity to plug for my abSIRD for Matlab. Real 3D, no extra hardware required.

    And as allways, I am standing on the shoulders of giants.

    My first response, after seeing the topic was … can you make stereogram ?
    @Daniel replies that!
    Thanks!

    This search will find you Daniel’s entry and another one for stereograms on the file exchange:
