Enhanced 3D display of data

3D displays of data can look very flat, which is why light sources are often added. Gordon has a different method for enhancing a 3D display and the results are impressive. MATLAB has many built in routines for showing 3D data, but it's always good to have more tools ready to use like this one. Surfplot first caught my eye because of the nice screen shot, but the good help file and the demo data set really made this something that I needed to highlight. Note that this demo requires the Image Processing Toolbox.
