Sliceomatic was an early pick here at pick of the week. Here is another tool, Orthogonalslicer, that does a similar job, but in a different way. This tool lets you look at the slices orthogonally rather than in isometric view.
One thing beyond the great functionality of this tool is that Lazlo made it easy to get started. I just downloaded it and ran the obvious file and a demo dataset was loaded. The easier it is to try something out, the more likely someone is going to use it. Now in a seminar or customer meeting when someone mentions volume visualization, I can bring out two different examples from the File Exchange.
