File Exchange Pick of the Week

Unique Filenames and a Repick

I like FREENAME as a way to generate a unique file name to add to a series of files in a directory. I have reinvented this wheel several times in the past and then lost it because of my incredible organizational skills... As a side note, one of the surest ways to get to be Pick Of The Week is to have a file that I need on a Wednesday when I am looking around the File Exchange for something I need for my own work. I figured there had to be a way to rotate the xtick label, and there was right here. It looks like Scott snagged this file as his first Pick Of The Week long ago. (Wow, has it been almost two years of this blog already?) I wanted to bring this one up to the front again, since it has been a while and I needed the file on a Wednesday!
