I think this "magnify" should become a standard icon of Matlab figure panel. BTW, I suggest adding one sentense "figure(f1)" after the 1st sentense of "if (nargin == 0), f1 = gcf; end;" so that the selected figure or the current figure would pop-up after typing in "magnify".
