Interesting clock

I like this little utility. I was fascinated by this kind of clock when my colleague brought one in to the office. See if you can figure it out before reading too much about it. This will be fun to put up on screen before seminars when I go on my “Educational tour” this month to give seminars at a bunch of universities in Louisiana, North Carolina, Texas, and Pennsylvania.

binary clock

What I liked about this code is that the actual clock is supposed to be a little mysterious and puzzling, but the code is not. It is documented, with an example and properly formatted help. Thanks Joseph.

Wrap code fragments inside <pre> tags, like this:

<pre class="code">
a = magic(3);
sum(a)
</pre>

If you have a "<" character in your code, either follow it with a space or replace it with "&lt;" (including the semicolon).
