File Exchange Pick of the Week

Super Mario Song!!

Jiro's pick this week is Super Mario Song by James Humes.

This week, I'm going to cheat a little bit. I'm going to borrow an idea from the MATLAB Central community. If you have been following MATLAB Answers, you may have noticed a recent question titled "Best File Exchange ever!!!". People have been voicing their favorite File Exchange entries with short blurbs about why they think they're good. It's very interesting to hear which files people are using, and that page certainly has a very high concentration of top-quality entries.

Many of them have already been chosen as the Pick of the Week, but not this one. I must say that I actually noticed this fun entry several years ago when I was in graduate school. I remember browsing through the File Exchange one day, and when I found this file, I was so tickled to death that I "played" it over and over again. That's right, you can play this one. It may bring back fond memories to some of you. I really like how he implemented the score by creating an array of notes along with an array of durations.

Wrap code fragments inside <pre> tags, like this:

<pre class="code">
a = magic(3);
sum(a)
</pre>

If you have a "<" character in your code, either follow it with a space or replace it with "&lt;" (including the semicolon).
