Adopting Model-Based Design
The most common questions I get from organizations adopting Model-Based Design is "How do we do it?" This week guest blogger Parasar Kodati introduces a resource to help answer this question.
Introducing the Adopting Model-Based Design Interactive Kit

Shifting development processes and tools is always a challenge. Customers will often ask, "I see the value in Model-Based Design, but how do I get started?" This is a natural question, especially given the fact that multiple groups use models throughout different development phases. For example, engineers use models to validate requirements early in the process, perform rapid prototyping, and generate production code.

To make the transition to Model-Based Design as smooth as possible, organization should consider how each group will use models and how to exchange information. While there are many factors to consider, they can be broken down into the following categories:
- Establishing organizational best practice
- Developing a Model Architecture
- Performing Configuration Management
- Implementing Company and Industry Standards
- Optimizing Performance
- Establishing a Verification, Validation, and Test Strategy

I am very excited to share with you the Adopting Model-Based Design Tech-Kit put together to help you learn about these topics.
MathWorks developed the best practices and materials in the Tech-Kit based on experiences working with leading customers from multiple industries. The Tech-Kit includes technical papers, technical support solutions, links to industry standards pages, and user stories.
Now it's your turn
Our hope is that the Tech-Kit provides you with a good starting point to adopt Model-Based Design. Did you find what you were looking for? Leave a comment here if you have any suggestions or questions.

@Seth/Parasar, Could links be added for the resources in above linked Tech-Kit page site?
@wei – Once you click through the information form, you are brought to a flash page that has all the links to the resources. The resources are linked from the flash page, and organized into the major topics areas described above. Click on the category and you will see the resources below.
There is also a full list on the right side in the Technical Literature tab.
@Wei
The tech-kit is interactive and has links to all the resources under different categories. Were you able to open the Tech-kit and click on different items. Please note that you need to fill in the registration form to access the Tech-kit. Logging into your MathWorks account should help populating information like your name, affiliation and contact details.
Hope this helps.
@Seth/Parasar, Thank you. That wasn’t apparent for me. I would prefer a link to here, a nice way to make this information available. Please keep the material refreshed and updated often.
