Petter—Thanks for your input. I imagine that we will leave things as they are for now, but we'll be closely monitoring additional feedback we receive once the book is actually available for purchase.

Let's say I buy this book. Then I get the P-code toolbox for free. But I won't be able to use it, since I cannot assume that the people I share my code with have or can obtain this toolbox.

Wouldn't it make more sense to release the P-code toolbox for free?

Matt—I appreciate the kind words! Interesting question about my references. I'll think about it and post something when I'm back in the office next week.

Congratulations Steve,

The 1st edition and Gonzalez and Woods 'Digital Image Processing' are always in easy reach. Together those two books handle about 80% of my DIP questions. (Pratt usually handles the remainder)

I'm curious as to what references you keep handy??

Petter—Thanks for your input. The DIPUM 2e Support Package, which includes P-files, will be available free to purchasers of a new copy of the 2nd edition of the book.

Why not release the toolbox for free? If someone writes code using the toolbox, they will not be able to share their code.

At a bare minimum, release the P-code for free. Otherwise no one will use the toolbox.
