Doug’s Easter Egg, limited time only

It took me a lot of work, but I managed to sneak an easter egg into MATLAB 2008a. It helps to know people who approve the final build that owe you a favor (we are even now, William!) No one has found it yet, and it only works today- April 1st 2008. Here it is in action:

    nice work there.
    wonder how many people will protest wanting their free t-shirt :)

  2. Doug replied on :

    I sent an e-mail out to Tech Support to warn them about the calls they would get. Several of them complained that they could not get the Easter Egg to work on their machines… Odd!

    sweet deal.

    on another note, do you always wear a tie to work? or is that picture of you an aberration?

  5. Steve Eddins replied on :

    Quan—Doug always wears a tie to work. We’ve been trying to get him to wear a different one occasionally, but no such luck.

    I just noticed this. Now, it is 2nd April. Is it an April Fool’s day joke?

  7. Doug replied on :

    Everyone

    Only people that found this yesterday on their install got free t-shirts. Thanks to everyone that qualified, we mailed t-shirts out to all of you today.

    Sorry everyone else, this Easter Egg and t-shirt offer only was good for one day!

    I’m going crazy right now looking for anything this year… even swapping between 2008b and 2009a.

    Zane,

    Funny. Dan S could not find the Easter Egg last year either. Oh well, something might be found in my favorite function, if it is not too late this year…

Wrap code fragments inside <pre> tags, like this:

<pre class="code">
a = magic(3);
sum(a)
</pre>

If you have a "<" character in your code, either follow it with a space or replace it with "&lt;" (including the semicolon).
