With the latest release of the app, you can now view and edit MATLAB (.m) files.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>View and Edit Existing Files<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Let\u2019s say you authored a file in MATLAB on your desktop and then uploaded it to your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/products\/matlab-drive\/\">MATLAB Drive<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/community\/files\/MATLAB_Editor.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/community\/files\/mobile-editor.png\" alt=\"mobile-editor\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4223\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can now view and edit this file from the convenience of your mobile device. When you connect to the cloud from MATLAB Mobile, go to the \u2018Files\u2019 screen. This shows your file and folder hierarchy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/community\/files\/MATLAB_Mobile_File_Browser.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"469\" height=\"426\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4201 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/community\/files\/MATLAB_Mobile_File_Browser.png\" alt=\"matlab_mobile_file_browser\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From here, you can navigate to the desired folder and tap on a MATLAB file to view the syntax highlighted code.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/community\/files\/MATLAB_Mobile_View_Files-e1478013601631.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"456\" height=\"433\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4212\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/community\/files\/MATLAB_Mobile_View_Files-e1478013601631.png\" alt=\"matlab_mobile_view_files\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you want to make changes (in this case, inserting code to add a legend to the stem plot), simply tap on any portion of the file to bring up the keyboard&#8230; and edit away!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/community\/files\/MATLAB_Mobile_Edit_Files.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"466\" height=\"445\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4214\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/community\/files\/MATLAB_Mobile_Edit_Files.png\" alt=\"matlab_mobile_edit_files\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Create New Files<\/h2>\n<p>But what if you want to create and edit a new file on MATLAB Mobile? To do this, go back to the \u2018Files\u2019 screen and tap on the \u2018+\u2019 button on the top right corner. Enter the name of the file and you\u2019re all set to go. \u00a0For example, you can write a script to acquire and plot data from your device\u2019s accelerometer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/community\/files\/MATLAB_Mobile_Create_Files.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"471\" height=\"446\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4204 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/community\/files\/MATLAB_Mobile_Create_Files.png\" alt=\"matlab_mobile_create_files\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Try it yourself!<\/h2>\n<p>In a future post, we will explore the new iPad layout.
