Our company is predominantly C++, C# and other languages for our main software, but our small research team still use Matlab extensively for prototyping and testing out ideas quickly. I love that I can just plot my data so quickly whatever I am doing. One of my mottos in research is ‘If you don’t want to plot it why are you doing it?’. Until fairly recently one of my colleagues was a woman who was also a very enthusiastic Matlab user. Alas, at the moment, we are an entirely male environment again, but still an enthusiastic pocket of Matlab users within a development team using all those other languages.
