MATLAB R2026a was released on Wednesday and I'm still writing my tour of the the new features. In the meantime, I wanted to show you how easy it is to update your AI to use this new version thanks to the MATLAB Agentic Toolkit. <\/span><\/div>\r\n
I'm using Claude Code and have the <\/span>MATLAB Agentic Toolkit<\/span><\/a> installed as <\/span>described in my blogpost from earlier this week<\/span><\/a>. I've also installed MATLAB R2026a. <\/span><\/div>\r\n

The running MCP server holds a lock on its own .exe, so v0.8.0 was downloaded to matlab-mcp-core-server.exe.new. To<\/span><\/div>\r\n

I'm running windows so the <\/span>mv<\/span> command that Claude suggests isn't going to work! I tell it that this is the case and ask what I should do instead<\/span><\/div>\r\n

Since I'm using <\/span>cmd.exe<\/span>, that's the command I use. I haven't checked the other two. I restart Claude and ask what its using now<\/span><\/div>\r\n
