2019 in Review

It’s that time of year again; 2019 is coming to a close as are the two thousand teens.  During the past decade, I started at MathWorks, Brett stepped down from full time posting to quarterly (thanks for your continued contributions Brett!) and Jiro moved from our headquarters in Massachusetts to the Japan office.  Will and Greg have been posting quarterly, though Greg recently left MathWorks (good luck Greg!). Idin left MathWorks but returned in under a year to keep his window office so we’re still hoping to get communications topics out of him occasionally!  Richard joined the blog and we had a brief stint from Avi before he turned his focus toward the deep learning blog.

During this decade, including the indexes, we’ve had exactly 500 posts!  Here is the cadence of our posts over time:

What’s the most popular post of the decade with almost 55000 page views?  https://blogs.mathworks.com/pick/2012/12/21/figure-margins-subplot-spacings-and-more/.  Due to its popularity, I added a banner to point users to the newer capabilities that hopefully alleviate the pain of making tiled layouts look good.

I’ve been playing with the prerelease for R2020a and providing feedback to development on it.  Almost every time I have to type “R2020a”, it comes out as “R2010a” because that “R201” is so ingrained.  Time to learn new keystrokes.

We wish you all a happy holiday season, a happy 2020, and a happy next decade!
