Here's why. Last week Loren blogged about <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/loren\/2009\/03\/25\/four-color-images\/\">Four Color Images<\/a>. Her final point, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/loren\/2009\/03\/25\/four-color-images\/#9\">Colormaps are Important<\/a> referenced some fairly well known scientific work by Light and Bartlein. <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/loren\/2009\/03\/25\/four-color-images\/#comment-30153\">Jody wished<\/a> to see these colormaps in MATLAB. Rather than just cross link my submission from Loren's blog and leave it at that, this\r\n      blog entry provides a place for more focused discussion.
