MATLAB users have been asking me for years if they could read MP3s into MATLAB, and I never had a good answer.  Now I do.  Alfredo has leveraged Windows capabilities for encoding\/decoding MP3 files to provide this capability directly within MATLAB.  I really appreciate how he patterned the functions closely after wavread and wavwrite.  This makes them really easy to learn.
