I hadn't until a few weeks ago, when a friend of mine was solving ones from the Boston Globe in the morning. For those not in the know, Sudoku are number puzzles that combine small integers (1..9) with a grid reminiscent of crossword puzzles. I've always enjoyed crossword puzzles, but I'm much more comfortable with numbers than words, so I love Sudoku.\r\n\r\nEnough about me, on to this week's pick. Stefan Bleeck programmed Sudoku <\/a>into MATLAB. He did a great job, and added a lot of value to just doing puzzles in the paper. First of all, I don't need to wait until tomorrow's paper to get a new puzzle. Stefan also put in hints that help out when I'm feeling a bit lazy. Run this through the MATLAB Compiler, and I think Stefan could give FreeScale and Solitaire a run for their money.\r\n\r\nThe best thing is that I can pretend I'm working when I do these puzzles, since I'm using MATLAB.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Have you heard of Sudoku puzzles?
