Professor Golub, one of the founding members of the Stanford University computer science department, is a revered figure in the area of numerical analysis and matrix computations.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\nWe were very sorry at MathWorks to hear that Professor Golub <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2007\/12\/10\/us\/10golub.html\">passed away last month at the age of 75<\/a>.
