Yesterday I was in another developer's office looking at his latest project. He was typing away in MATLAB when all of a sudden he did something that made me sit up and look closer at the screen. \"Hey!\" I said. \"Do that again!\"\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\nHe had pressed TAB while typing in the filename input argument to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/help\/releases\/R2009b\/techdoc\/ref\/imread.html\"><tt>imread<\/tt><\/a>, and it automatically completed the filename!\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\nReally, I had no idea they had done this.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\nHere's a screen snippet.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.mathworks.com\/images\/steve\/2009\/imread-tab-completion.png\" alt=\"imread tab completion screen shot\" \/>\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>\r\nThe functions <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/help\/releases\/R2009b\/techdoc\/ref\/imread.html\"><tt>imread<\/tt><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/help\/releases\/R2009b\/techdoc\/ref\/imfinfo.html\"><tt>imfinfo<\/tt><\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/help\/releases\/R2009b\/techdoc\/ref\/imwrite.html\"><tt>imwrite<\/tt><\/a> all now support tab completion for filenames in your current working folder.\r\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\r\nOK, I'm embarrassed that I didn't even know about this particular new feature in R2009b.
