Coffee Chats: Fostering connection between university students and startups

A common challenge voiced by startups is hiring. Finding the right team can be key to a successful journey. Startups need people with technology expertise to build their products, but limited resources often constrain the ability to hire experienced people. Conversely, students looking for career entry are often faced with feedback that they don’t have significant work experience and can struggle to land their first job.

This intersection leaves an opportunity for organizations to close the divide.

Universities around the world use MATLAB and Simulink in academic courses, equipping students with knowledge and real-world examples. At the same time, startups leverage the tools to reduce development time and bring safe and reliable products to market quickly. The MathWorks Accelerator Program is helping create a link between these arenas, giving startups access to both the tools and people needed to drive innovation, while promoting more students into the workforce.
