JPEG: What’s in a name?

Hi folks. If you want to learn a bit about the many compression methods and file formats that all share the name JPEG, check out Jeff Mather's nice summary of the JPEG landscape.

Wrap code fragments inside <pre> tags, like this:

<pre class="code">
a = magic(3);
sum(a)
</pre>

If you have a "<" character in your code, either follow it with a space or replace it with "&lt;" (including the semicolon).
