June MATLAB Community Updates

In today’s post, I thought I would share fun news with you about our MATLAB community plus one tip about Trendy from a coworker.

Cleve’s Corner – The Blog Edition

Cleve Moler, author of MATLAB, launches new blog Since you are a reader of MathWorks blogs, I thought you would be interested to hear that Cleve Moler, chief mathematician, chairman, and cofounder of MathWorks has started a new blog called Cleve’s Corner. In this new blog, Cleve plans to share thoughts on interesting mathematical topics. I am looking forward to reading it.

By the way, if you do happen to see Cleve in your travels, be sure to congratulate him on receiving IEEE’s 2012 Computer Pioneer Award for his invention of MATLAB. Congratulations, Cleve!

A Trendy Tip

My coworker Rob was sharing his favorite new Trendy feature – editing your Trendy data. I thought this would make a great tip to share. If you have used Trendy to create a trend, have you ever worried what would happen if the website you wanted to collect data from was down and you wound up with a missing piece of data? There is a feature on Trendy which will allow you to fix this by editing the data. Here’s how you can do this:

1. Log into your account and go to your trend.

2. Click on the link to Show All Data.

3. Go to the data that you would like to update and click to edit.

Thanks to Rob for sharing this tip. Make sure that you go to Rob’s profile on Trendy to see all the cool plots and trends that he has created.

That’s it for this week’s post. If you have any cool tips or favorite MATLAB Community content that you would like to share, please leave a comment below.
