I really like the idea of showing simple examples very well. This week's pick
does that by showing animations of several classical dynamic systems, these are systems we all should remember from college. There is a nice example selector that lets you choose which example to run, and the animations are really solid. If you choose to venture further into the code, you will find it is well documented, nicely laid out, and has references to the source of the algorithms.
When I first read the description of this demo, I expected it to be a SimMechanics
demo since many of these examples would be easier to do in our time based, dynamic modeling and simulation package, Simulink
, with the add-on blockset of SimMechanics
for modeling of physical systems. However, at heart I am a MATLAB
kind of guy, and I like to see examples that show she can do time based simulations too!
