The new
Distributed Computing Toolbox is enabling MATLAB and Simulink users to tackle larger problems than ever before by easily distributing their analysis and simulations across several computers in a cluster. When optimizing distributed code, it is often useful to see how long each task takes to run. This helps you see if some of the nodes in your cluster are slacking off, for instance - or if your coworker is hogging all of the good processors!
Russel Goyder wrote a simple visualization that meets this need beautifully.
Visual Timing Report for Distributed Tasks shows the start and stop time of all of the tasks running on your cluster.
Note: This submission requires the Distributed Computing Toolbox.
