Alt Up Down Keyboard Shortcut in MATLAB Editor 4

Posted by Stuart McGarrity,

When editing code in the MATLAB editor, I often find that I’m interested in the use of one variable throughout the code. The keyboard shortcut Alt plus the Up or Down arrow keys lets me search through all instances of a variable, so I can navigate quickly through all related points in the script or function.

For more information, see the documentation on automatic variable and function highlighting.

Hi Stuart, thanks for the helpful tip, I wasn't aware of these keyboard shortcuts. With respect, I feel your in-code presentation wasn't quite as clear as when you speak directly into the camera. I feel non-native English speakers in particular may have some difficulty. I'm not sure to what degree you're looking for highly specific, constructive critique? If you're interested, please drop me a line and we can discuss in email. In any case, thank you again for this useful video.

Sorry about that. I know I can mumble sometimes. I'll be more conscious of speaking clearly.

Thanks for the video. As a shortcut key junkie (eg) I really appreciate this kind of productivity tip, and I welcome the opportunity to discuss the Desktop, not just the MATLAB language.
