A Simple Backup Utility 1

Posted by Stuart McGarrity,

I have a number of scripts that I have been maintaining for many years. They are not in version control but I still want to make edits and be able to access the code in previous versions. So I use a simple utility that saves a version of the file to a backup folder before I make major edits.

For more information about programmatically accessing the MATLAB Editor type:

>>help matlab.desktop.editor

matlab.desktop.editor.getActive is very useful, but how would I find out about commands like this? I did type help matlab.desktop.editor and got some good info but this doesn’t show up in a search on this site or in the Matlab help. What other commands like this exist?
